Laura Puccia Valtorta was born in Watertown, New York, in 1958, and graduated from St. Lawrence University in 1980. She attended Duke University and graduated from the University of South Carolina Law School in 1992. She practices law in Columbia, South Carolina. Ms. Valtorta is also a novelist.
